We will be using Google Classroom as the platform for our distance learning math class. Please go to Google Classroom and find the class called Maddox Math19-20. The best way to find what you'll need each day is to use the "Classwork" view. If you are having trouble getting into our Google Classroom please send me an email.

Hello and welcome back from spring break! I hope that each of you have found something fun to do during our time off. I am excited to connect and hear about what you've been up to.
We are coming back to a different type of learning that will be new and exciting for us all. Teachers are working hard to prepare for an amazing distance learning experience that will start on March 30th. It will be a new and exciting adventure for us to take. I miss you all and look forward to connecting with you soon! If you are looking for some math to practice please continue to use the IXL strands in the Spring Break post. You could also login to your ConnectED EM4 online account and play math games. Sincerely, Mrs. Maddox Fourth graders will be taking the final District Comprehensive Assessment (DCA) on March 26. We will take a practice DCA when we return from break. If your child is looking for some additional math practice the following IXL strands connect to the standards assessed on the upcoming DCA. Students are NOT required to complete these strands.
District Comprehensive Assessment Standards w/IXL Practice 4.1.1.3 Multiply multi-digit numbers, using efficient procedures, based on knowledge of place value, including standard algorithms.
4.1.1.4 Estimate products and quotients of multi-digit whole numbers by using rounding, benchmarks and place value to assess the reasonableness of results.
4.1.1.5 Solve multi-step real-world and mathematical problems requiring the use of addition, subtraction and multiplication of multi-digit whole numbers. Use various strategies, including the relationship between operations, the use of technology, and the context of the problem to assess the reasonableness of results.
4.2.1.1 Create and use input-output rules involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to solve problems in various contexts. Record the inputs and outputs in a chart or table.
4.2.2.2 Use multiplication, division and unknowns to represent a given problem situation using a number sentence. Use number sense, properties of multiplication, and the relationship between multiplication and division to find values for the unknowns that make the number sentences true.
On Monday math class will be a little shorter due to a Chippewa Orchestra concert
