Assignment (due Tuesday 1/30)
KHAN ACADEMY INTRO TO MULTIPLYING DECIMALS www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/arith-decimals/arith-review-multiplying-decimals/v/intro-to-multiplying-decimals KHAN ACADEMY MULTIPLYING DECIMALS PLACE VALUE www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/arith-decimals/arith-review-multiplying-decimals/v/developing-strategies-for-multiplying-decimals Students looking for additional math work can continue working on the 4th Grade mission using Khan Academy. End of Quarter 2 District Comprehensive Assessment (DCA) will be given today. Students who need additional time to finish will complete it tomorrow. Due to Specialist STAR Day tomorrow we will have a shorter math class. Students will wrap up the DCA and do some problem solving or math games.
Unit 8 tests are graded and have been put into ParentVue. Students will get them back today or tomorrow, depending on time. Please check in with your child to review their test and make sure they understand any that they missed. Our class will take the End of Quarter 2 District Comprehensive Assessment (DCA) tomorrow. Below you will find information on what the DCA will assess.
Assignment - due Thursday
MN Mathamatics Academic Standards Assessed
IXL Strands That Support These Standards/Benchmarks These strands are not assigned, but can be used for students looking for additional practice. 4.1.1.3 Multiply multi-digit numbers, using efficient and generalizable procedures, based on knowledge of place value, including standard algorithms.
4.1.1.5 Solve multi-step real-world and mathematical problems requiring the use of addition, subtraction and multiplication of multi-digit whole numbers. Use various strategies, including the relationship between operations, the use of technology, and the context of the problem to assess the reasonableness of results.
4.2.1.1 Create and use input-output rules involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to solve problems in various contexts. Record the inputs and outputs in a chart or table.
4.2.2.2 Use multiplication, division and unknowns to represent a given problem situation using a number sentence. Use number sense, properties of multiplication, and the relationship between multiplication and division to find values for the unknowns that make the number sentences true.
There are a few students still finishing the Unit 8 math test. They will be returned later this week, after all have finished and have been graded. Today we begin working on Unit 9: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents. The learning we did with fractions (finding equivalents) in December will be built on.
